I have been involved in materials testing for over 40 years using a wide variety of techniques from classical steel works analysis through precious metals chemistry to modern methods of analysis.
I started out a laboratory technician at Sheffield University Metallurgy department analysing all types of metals, slags and ores. Moved onto Sheffield Assay Office where I was chief chemist for 18 years. In 2006 moved to Bruker Corporation as an application scientist working with X-Ray Fluorescence systems all over the world.
I retired in May 2015 and am currently running my own business offering training and support on XRF, ICP and AA plus a bespoke standard alloy manufacturing service
